Learn about Prolozone Therapy!

Prolozone partners the healing powers of ozone with nutrient components needed to restore damaged tissues. Prolozone therapy is used to facilitate complete healing of joints and is proven to bring a permanent end to chronic joint pain in over 75% of recipients.

Prolozone works on just about any pain problem you might have.

What is Prolozone?

Prolozone is derived from the Latin word “proli” which means to regenerate or rebuild, and the word “ozone”. Developed and pioneered by Dr. Frank Shallenberger, founder of the American Academy of Ozonetherapy, Prolozone partners the healing powers of ozone with nutrient components needed to restore damaged tissues. Prolozone therapy is used to facilitate complete healing of joints and is proven to bring a permanent end to chronic joint pain in over 75% of recipients.

How does it work?

For a damaged area of the body to fully regenerate and heal, it must have the critical healing elements that only the blood can provide: vitamins, minerals, and oxygen. The reason some injuries never fully heal is because there is a lack of circulation of blood, and the healing elements simply cannot be delivered to the site of injury. Of these healing elements, oxygen is by far the most important. Hypoxia, or low levels of oxygen, will cause an accumulation of lactic acid. Pain is primarily caused by a buildup of lactic acid. The goal is to reduce lactic acid while providing the healing

Prolozone works to facilitate healing in three ways

  1. Anti-inflammatory agents are first injected into the injured area to reduce inflammation and swelling. This leads to increased circulation.
  2. The area is then treated with vitamins and minerals that are critical for healing.
  3. The area is infiltrated with oxygen in the form of ozone.

Prolozone therapy delivers the healing elements directly to the site of injury. As a result, the tissues get what they need to heal. As they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established and the healing is complete.

Is Prolozone the same as Prolotherapy?

No. Prolozone uses oxygen to facilitate healing while Prolotherapy uses inflammation to trigger the healing.
